Create your mercenary and fight in brutal battles where you will experience fast paced combat, castle sieges, cavalry charges, and more. Whats more important is to make sure the note cooldown is higher (higher = lower cooldown in lutebot), i found that 25 seems to play really fast sections well like ttfaf.MORDHAU is a multiplayer medieval slasher. I noticed that FPS can affect the speed that it plays notes however that usually isn't a problem. That said, I always worked off of 2 octaves from one C to another C (generally just picking 2 octaves that sounded decent) I might need to make some tracks that just go through the range of lute notes and figure out where they are, because I swear that it seems to work well, unless lutebot is reading the highest/lowest note and working like that. I've worked on a couple of midis in a similar way, but also done some stuff like mixing bass/melodies to try and get more of the song or atleast alternating between parts etc. It will only sound a bit weird when it enters/leaves that section, rather than consistently through it. It isn't perfect, but due to how humans tend to recognise patterns, it will be better than having the riffs looping over the octaves. Let me know if you have any song requests and I'll see if I can do it.Īnother thing is that you don't need to keep the entire song in the same scale, if it is a song with lots of riffs that keep going out of the bounds of two octaves, you can move separate sections to keep them in. That seems to be my personal experience, I don't know how much truth there is to it. For instance, someone running at 20fps might have trouble playing Miserlou because it's so fast. But higher FPSs should be able to hit faster note sequences. Obviously still fitting within the constraints above. Theoretically, the higher your FPS, the more complex songs you'll be able to play. I have not empirically tested this though. Lastly, I think that lute performance is tied to game performance. So all the notes of a chord don't play at once, they play one after another in quick succession, going up in pitch. ![]() I've gotten around this by offsetting notes slightly from lowest to highest to give chords a "strummed" sound. I've heard tell of 3 notes at the same time but haven't been able to get it to work. At most you can play 2 notes at the same time. ![]() As such, none of the songs I posted above are in their original key, they are all in various D keys.Ĭhords don't work well on the lute. This also means that most songs will have to be transposed into a D scale to make the most of the lute's melodic range. Sometimes Putting the lowest note on C3 and the highest on C5 works better. I've found that putting the lowest note of the song on D3 and making sure none of the other notes exceeds C#5 works best. The lute has a range of two octaves between D3 and D5. Nerd shit for anyone looking to make their own songs for Lutebot: So of all the songs, that one works best with Lutebot. I actually recorded that on a piano to fit within the constraints of LuteBot. The Rains of Castamere is actually a cover I did, so that one's not auto-converted from anything. My personal favorites are He's a Pirate and Rains of Castamere. Some sound better than others, but they all sound pretty good in-game. Song of Storms (Legend of Zelda) (This one was difficult and sounds a bit strange at some parts) These songs, however, seem to work pretty well. Even with editing, sometimes there's just not much that can be done. The in-game lute has a lot of constraints, so not all songs work very well. I have midi files for several songs that I've edited/recreated in FL Studio for the purpose of using with LuteBot. Open a ModMail ticket on the Official Discord to do so.
